You probably didn't get a ukulele to play very common songs that are boring to play. That's why I've created this handy list of easy ukulele songs for beginners featuring some of the easiest songs for ukulele beginners that involve only a few simple chords.

You'll find most these songs fun to play. At the same time, you can progress on your ukulele learning journey if you practice these beginner-friendly songs. This will not only make you remember these basic chords, but also help build your reflex and make learning more complex songs in future a much easier experience.

If you prefer a more structured approach to learning how to play the ukulele, you can get started with this free 'Ukulele Fundamentals' course by Uke Like the Pros.

They are by far my most favorite online ukulele lessons platform. To know why, you can read my full post comparing both paid and free ukulele lessons websites.

Easiest Ukulele Chords for Beginners

Before we start with the actual songs, here are 4 basic chords that you should remember. Almost all the songs featured below utilize either some or all of these common chords.

So, these are the four easy ukulele chords you need to master: A minor, C, F and G.

From the chord shapes, you can see that the shapes aren't too complex and you need just a single finger for both A minor and C. While F needs two fingers, the shape of G is fairly easy to get right with three fingers.

If you're already a guitar player, or familiar with guitar chords, you can tell that it's the same shape as the extremely popular 'D' guitar chord. If you aren't, no worries. Don't let the requirement of three fingers intimidate you. Just pick up your ukulele and try making that shape with your fingers. I bet you'll find it pretty easy to do.

Strumming Patterns?

I'll give an advice contrary to what many other accomplished uke players would give you. For these songs, and especially at this stage, stop worrying too much about the exact strumming pattern.

Sure, in the video tutorials below, you'll see the instructor play or recommend a specific strumming pattern. But, the meat is in getting the chords and chord switching right. As humans, we have a natural knack for picking up and playing rhythms, so you'll automatically start playing something that goes well with the song, no matter what rhythm pattern it has originally.

Now with all of that clear, let's get started with the actual songs!

Not only is it much easier for beginners owing to the fewer number of strings compared to a guitar, but many of its commonly used chord shapes are also arguably easier than their guitar counterparts.
